8 Months

Gracie is 8 months old today. She just recently started sitting up on her own and continues to "talk" constantly! Her favorite (ok, only) word is da da da da da. We took Gracie to the doctors today and discovered that she has an ear infection in both ears. This is our second round of ear infections and we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be the last. Other than that, Gracie is doing so well! She is days away from crawling and has mastered rocking back and forth on all fours while she's playing on the floor.

Lunch with Dave's Co-Workers

Today Grace and I headed to Pentagon City to visit Daddy and his co-workers for lunch. Many of them have been watching Grace grow on this blog and were excited at the chance to meet her in person.

And they were both all smiles! (Thank you Fair Oaks Mall for only taking 30 minutes!)

What a tall baby!

Dave was playing with the baby last night and as he held her up I realized how tall she's gotten. Tall isn't a word that one usually uses to describe our family but Gracie really is getting that way!

Who needs Santa anyway?

Sunday we went to the mall to get a picture with Santa. Pudge was all dressed up, tights on, she even had a bow in her hair. We were psyched. As we got closer to Santa's house, I saw kids dressed in thier best holiday attire, patent leather shoes, red and green plaid, it was totally adorable. When we got to Santa, I was surprised that the line wasn't too terribly long. Ha ha, silly first time mama. What I was seeing was the line after the pager had gone off! A pager, I know. I thought I was going to Cheesecake Factory. We signed up for our pager and decided to do some Christmas shopping while we waited. It was 1PM. Around 3, our pager still hadn't gone off and Dave and I had exhausted all our shopping options. Grace was exhausted as well. We decided to check where our name was on the list. We went back to Santa's house, no Santa. He takes a break from 3-4PM. Great. Dave asked one of the elves how much longer they thought it would be. The elf said, "Oh, you guys should get to see him by 5:30!" Are you kidding me! My mind flashed to the scene in a Christmas Story when Ralphy and his annoying little brother were waiting to see Santa. Well, we weren't waiting any longer. Ho, Ho, Ho...

Here in place of the Santa picture:

My first snow!

Yesterday we had our first measurable snow of the season. Driving was a bit crazy but once we made it home safely, we had time to enjoy it! "Mama, what's all that white stuff outside?"
"Hmm, interesting. Get me closer."

"All ready for school Mama...now zip me up!"

This picture was taken this morning. We had a 2 hour delay and some extra time on our hands. I wanted all of you to know how happy she is in the morning...smiling for no apparent reason. She's a happy one!
